Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The specialized department of intensive care in Kumudini Hospital is a well-equipped one with all the modern and state of the art facilities and served by experienced doctors under the supervision of consultant. The team is composed of ICU consultant, senior trained medical officers and dedicated trained senior staff nurse provide 24/7 lifesaving evidence based care to critical patients admitted to ICU. The department is linked to other allied departments to provide necessary subject specific advice and treatment support. It is one of low cost ICU in country in private sector to provide high quality care.

Our consultants work closely with our highly trained team of critical care nurses in order to best manage each patients plan of care from the time they enter an intensive care unit. Due to our integrated approach to medical care and more standardized treatment protocols we ensure that may result in shorter lengths of stay and fewer complications for our patients.

The ICU is a multidisciplinary unit with a 10-bed capacity for critical cases. All the beds have a State-of- the-Art cardiac monitoring system all interconnected to a central monitoring unit capable of multiple functions including storing and retrieving patients’ vital data. Majority of our patients are with acute respiratory failure, septic shock, complicated surgical case, postoperative surgical cases, multiorgan failure, pulmonary embolism, hypertensive emergencies. A stand-by advanced mechanical ventilators, haemodialysis machine, 2D Echo machine, ultrasound machine, X-ray machine are available in the unit for use when required.
